The cultural heritage
Fauna and Flora
You will be able to recharge your batteries on the hiking trails. It's not unusual to come across a doe, a fox or any of the other wild animals that inhabit our undergrowth. And if you're lucky, you might even spot a lynx...
You won't be outdone when it comes to flora, as the Jura is renowned for its biodiversity, particularly the peat bogs and their rare plants at Bonlieu... Finally, when the region dons its autumn coat, the light and colours are a delight for photography enthusiasts...
Gastronomy
The Jura is the birthplace of one of the world's finest cheeses: Comté! And there are numerous dairies… But it's also known for the Morbier and the Bleu de Gex.
Come and savor our tasty and generous specialties such as Jurassian cutlets, our fondues, and our famous chicken with yellow wine. Numerous restaurants, including some Michelin-starred ones, will be delighted to introduce you to our region through the plate!
